Thesis Title: In Extremis: Morality in Times of Emergency

Richard Ashcroft

About

Most of my work focuses on philosophical ethics and the philosophy of law. My research focuses on metaethics (practical reason and the nature of ethics) and applied ethics (especially public health ethics, research ethics, and the ethics of bioscience and biotechnology).  My research also focuses on jurisprudence and substantive areas of law, including philosophical aspects of criminal, tort and health law, and law and neuroscience.  I’m also quite interested in political philosophy and the history of ethics (especially British moral philosophy).
